RECRUITER HUMAN RESOURCES

I BASIC FUNCTION:

The Recruiter plays a key role in developing and executing recruitment strategies to find, screen, and hire candidates that
display Humble, Hungry, Smart characteristics. Excel at building strong relationships and serve as a strategic recruiting
partner, consulting with hiring managers regarding the recruiting process and candidate experience to meet the evolving
needs of the business.

II MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Recruiting
1. Own full cycle recruiting activities for open positions.
2. Coordinate, plan and monitor job postings.
3. Work with HR Manager to ensure alignment with company leadership on current, prospective, and future key staffing
initiatives
4. Collaborate closely with hiring managers throughout the process to ensure you meet their hiring needs and goals
5. Develop and foster strong relationships with Regional Junior College, Vo-Tech and High Schools to develop as a source
of future new hires to support recruiting plan.
6. Monitor and control recruiting expenses.
B. Orientation
1. Schedule pre-employment drug screen, post offer medical examinations.
2. Ensure all paperwork and onboarding steps are completed.
3. Ensure all new video training is complete prior to end of orientation.
C. Record Keeping, Reporting and Communications
1. Maintain new hire onboarding portal as well as the Application Tracking System (Workday).
2. Prepare analytical statistics from application data gathered by the Application Tracking System (Workday).
3. Work with HR Services and Crew Dispatchers to prepare turnover analysis and reports.
4. Develop and update job descriptions.
D. Other
1. Perform other duties as required and directed by management.

III ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

The Recruiter is appointed by the Vice President of Human Resources and reports to the HR Manager. The Recruiter will
work closely with Operations, Crew Dispatchers, and Human Resources.

IV EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in human resources, recruiting, or a related field is strongly preferred but not required.
2. Experience (onboard and operations support) in marine human resource management, recruiting, safety and training is
preferred but not required.
3. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for recruiting events as well as vessel visits.

V QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree from College or University is preferred but not required.
2. High proficiency in internet and computer use including Microsoft Office and Social Media outlets.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
4. Knowledge of the inland barging industry is preferred but not required.

About the Position:
Travel is necessary in this position...can be sporadic.
Recruiting travel can be up to 25% of time for events and vessel visits. Exciting HR position with growth opportunities!
