The Recruitment and Retention Specialist for Catholic Schools is responsible for ensuring high-quality teachers and candidates for other school positions are recruited and retained in the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist for Catholic Schools will work closely with Human Resources and the Director of Marketing for Catholic Schools to create a recruitment strategy and coordinate, manage, and evaluate teacher recruitment activities in order to build a pipeline of candidates for Catholic school teaching and support staff positions.

Essential Functions:

Recruitment/Retention Management

  • Managing, planning, and implementing the recruitment and retention of teachers and school support staff in close coordination with Human Resources.
    • This includes but is not limited to open houses, job fairs, campus visits and tours.
    • This includes coordinating relationships with higher education entities to provide opportunities for classroom observations, internships, and student teaching experiences.
  • Provide resources and support to teachers who are working on certification.
  • Assist with data collection, and reporting data on recruitment and retention

Marketing

Working closely with the Director of Marketing for Catholic Schools and Human Resources, coordinate the external and internal marketing efforts and initiatives to attract and retain teachers in sufficient numbers to support the vacancies of the school. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Market research
  • Seeking publicity opportunities to highlight the work and mission of being a teacher in the Archdiocese of Baltimore

Planning and Communications

  • Promote understanding, acceptance, and support of the vision and mission statements, and objectives of the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore
  • Work closely with the Department of Catholic Schools’ team and the Human Resources’ team to set and achieve goals and objectives

Constituent Relations

  • Planning and management for the engagement of higher education partners
  • Communication of knowledge regarding open/filled positions, future staffing needs, and exit reasons/trends.

Operations

  • Data management: assist with providing data reports relating to the recruitment, hiring, and retention goals.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (administration, human resources, marketing, communications), or equivalent relevant experience
  • Three to five years of previous experience in recruiting, candidate sourcing, marketing, and/or communications; experience in teacher recruitment preferred
  • Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic education
  • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals
  • Ability to work collaboratively on teacher recruitment activities.
  • Superior communication skills, ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plans, the ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, trustees, school administration, the media and alumni
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the Internet
  • Experience in a parochial or not-for-profit environment preferred.
  • Preferred: practicing Catholic fully able to participate in the Sacramental life of the Church
