Position description
The Registration Representative may be responsible for the accurate check-in/admissions of incoming patients in the hospital setting as well ED setting. This includes the verification of patient demographic information, collection of insurance data, the identification and/or creation of appropriate accounts, and the collection of indicated co-payments and/or share of cost. The Registration Representative is required to ensure patient safety using positive patient identification protocols and obtain the appropriate consents as required. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit’s performance expectations.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant experience required
OR
Bachelor’s degree required

Additional Requirements include:
Ability to read and communicate effectively
Basic computer/keyboarding skills, intermediate mathematic competency
Good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of proper phone etiquette and phone handling skills

Additional qualifications
Position requires good communication skills. Prior desk, appointment, or secretarial experience and a working knowledge of scheduling systems and procedures are preferred. Must have the ability to interact on a professional level with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.

This position has the potential to float between our Austin and Albert Lea Campus. The home location for this position is Austin. Mileage is paid when traveling to Albert Lea Campus.

Typical hours are overnight hours 10p – 630a. Be aware that 4 to 5 shifts per month may be assigned as second shift evenings hours. This position is considered a full time staff and is scheduled for 80 hours a pay week. As a reminder, this is a 24/7 department and safe staffing levels may require flexibility in schedule. This position is eligible for shift differential.

Our department currently has a weekend and holiday rotation. Will discuss in detail upon offer.
