Kephera seeks well-qualified candidates for a Research Assistant position to join our R&D team working to develop and launch infectious disease immunoassays in our CLIA laboratory and as part of our product line. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the research program and be involved in multiple aspects of the projects from basic research to clinical studies.

The Research Assistant will engage in development and validation of immunoassays for a variety of infectious diseases, starting with COVID-19 and including other viral, bacterial or parasitic diseases in point-of-care and laboratory-based formats, methods development and documentation, and participation in clinical studies for regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performance of a variety of laboratory experiments utilizing standard protocols such as ELISA, immunoblot, chromatography, cell culture, etc.
  • Documentation of experimental data and results.
  • Efficient communication with supervisor and team to interpret data and participate in design of appropriate experiments.
  • Data analysis and interpretation, presentation of results to R&D team.
  • Participation in routine laboratory activities.

Qualifications:

  • BA or MA degree in a life sciences field, preferably with 1-3 years of laboratory work experience.
  • Experience in infectious disease research and with diagnostic assays desirable.
  • Experience with various laboratory techniques such as ELISA and Western Blot, chromatography, protein conjugation, DNA/RNA isolation, gel electrophoresis, PCR and real-time qPCR.
  • Strong laboratory and organizational skills.
  • Capability for independent problem-solving as well as teamwork.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and in presentations.
  • Ability to adhere to documented protocols for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information is collected.
  • Attention to details and ability to analyze data.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
