Research Assistant III Job at University of Florida
- Design, conduct, and supervise the implementation of experiments related to precision irrigation and nutrient management, including the Florida Stakeholder Engagement Program (STEP) conducted in the laboratory and field environment.
- Collect data and evaluate the effectiveness of experimental treatments and perform appropriate statistical analyses.
- Coordinate with industry representatives regarding products and procedures for testing.
- Coordinate the daily operations of the crop irrigation and nutrient management program including the maintenance of supplies and supervision and scheduling of support personnel in consultation with the immediate supervisor.
- Writing reports, newsletters, and preparing presentations.
- Present abstracts, papers, and workshops at industry and scientific meetings, and assist with extension and school visits.
- Perform other related work as necessary.
- Maintain clean and orderly working areas
Expected Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong work ethic, the ability to work as a team, and excellent hands-on skills are required.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot experiments.
- High-level communication skills both verbal and written, in interpersonal relationships.
- Experience with irrigation and nutrient management, fungicides, fluent in English (other language skills are encouraged).
- Knowledge of scientific methods including experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
