The Reservoir Engineering Lead for Apache Corporation will be a member of the Reservoir Engineering Function at the company’s Houston, Texas office reporting to t he VP, R eservoir Engineering and assigned to the Global Geoscience & Portfolio Management Team.

This role will primarily be responsible for the following:
Build and maintain the corporate exploration portfolio, which is used to guide capital investment decisions
Update the exploration portfolio database with prospect inventory information received from assets.
Develop and use data movement and QC workflows to optimize data exchange between the Exploration Portfolio Team and the Asset Teams
Collaborate with the Exploration teams across the company to facilitate portfolio updates
Meet and work with asset teams to provide submission timelines and criteria regarding inventory.
Review submitted data for reasonableness and accuracy.
Discuss and resolve any concerns with the asset teams.
Generate reports and visualizations to help communicate opportunity attributes and portfolio management process results to audiences from the exploration teams to the executive level
QC PetroVR outputs with asset teams and reconcile with Aucerna Portfolio calculated results. Designs visualizations and outputs to easily facilitate QC process. Works to resolve issues and define acceptable simplifying assumptions. Collaborate with asset team engineers on PetroVR case set up.
Maintain necessary Aucerna Portfolio input files. Load data into Aucerna Portfolio and run portfolio scenarios. Revise models, as necessary, to properly calculate and reconcile value metrics. Establishes, with other team members, initial recommendations for portfolio scenario constraints and requirements. Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Minimum 10 - 15 years experience as a reservoir engineer, ideally in both conventional and unconventional basins.
Experience with portfolio management principles and techniques
Experience with economic evaluations and models including international PSCs (preferred)
Experienced with PetroVR or similar stochastic modeling tools
Experience working on petroleum exploration projects and knowledge of exploration volumes, risking, and distributions using GeoX or a similar tool
Data analytics and visualization skills, using Spotfire or equivalent tools
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, aggregation, and organization
Understanding of database principles
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work across teams in different locations
Ability to quickly evaluate and learn new technologies
Excellent project management and communication skills; mature and professional attitude Competencies
