West Central Behavioral Health, the non-profit community behavioral health center serving lower Grafton County and Sullivan County, New Hampshire, is embarking on a four-year, transformational effort to become a federally-recognized Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. This will enable West Central to continue to provide high-quality, person- and family-centered mental and substance use disorder services to the underserved individuals of all ages, including our veterans, regardless of their ability to pay.

Be part of a dedicated and compassionate team of care givers. West Central is seeking a Nurse to work 16-20 hours per week at Arbor View, an independent living facility located in Newport, NH. Full-time also available.

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out MD orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provides on-going client education regarding medication(s) and treatment.
  • Performs monthly quality assurance review on medication logs, as well as completes annual 1202 report and annual state medical certification documentation.
  • Trains Residential staff in handling and administering medications and conducts annual re-certification of all staff.
  • Creates and updates protocols and procedures for medication dispensing, emergency and routine care.
  • Participates in screening of residential clients at Arbor View for client admissions.
  • Collaborates with client's case manager, community living special and physicians. Communicates pertinent information in an organized and timely manner that reflects treatment and client status.
  • Provides nursing on-call coverage 24-7 for medical and medication-related consultation. Serves as health wellness resources for staff.
  • Oversees tracking, storage, and management of controlled medications.
  • Provides nursing assessments and interventions to residents.
  • Coordinates medical and laboratory services for residents, including those on clozapine.
  • Provides medication information necessary for state audits and other reviews.

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited school for Nursing
  • Maintain current RN licensure in the State of New Hampshire
  • Maintains current RN Training status in the State of New Hampshire

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience

Required Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic medical records
