The State of New Hampshire, Liquor Commission has a vacancy for a Full-Time Retail Store Clerk II.

Summary:
Provides exceptional customer service in a retail store environment by retrieving and compiling register receipts, maintaining product merchandising and inventory, and reporting sales results.

Responsibilities:
Provides exceptional customer service by building a loyal customer base. Strives for excellence when assisting customers in order to enhance customer relations as well as the NH Liquor Commissions and the State of New Hampshire's reputation.

Verifies and enters details of financial transactions including balancing workday cash with total sales.

Retrieves and compiles cash register receipts including making bank deposits, taking inventory, setting up registers and processing credit card sales.

Checks and maintains inventories of stock items including receiving, unpacking and storing a variety of goods and supplies.

Sets up product merchandising displays and makes certain that the store's appearance is neat and clean at all times.

Sells sweepstakes tickets to customers and operates sweepstakes ticket dispensing machine.

Functions in the capacity of manager when required, to include opening/closing liquor stores when scheduled.

Provides supervision to cashiers (Retail Store Clerk I's) and Laborers.

On occasion is assigned to work in other stores requiring travel to store location.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education : Graduation from high school, G.E.D. or its equivalent. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Two years of experience as a Retail Store Clerk I, Cashier/Clerk or equivalent retail experience.*

License/Certification: Valid driver's license required for travel to different store locations.

  • Retail Store Clerk II Trainee, labor grade 11 qualifications: Candidates possessing one year of experience as a Retail Store Clerk I, Cashier/Clerk or equivalent retail experience may be hired at a one-salary grade reduction as a Retail Store Clerk II Trainee. After one year of successful performance in the position, the employee will be promoted to the Retail Store Clerk II, labor grade 12 level.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have attained 18th birthday on or before date of application. Frequent physical effort required in continuous lifting of material up to 25 pounds with frequent lifting of cases of liquor weighing up to 60 pounds.
