Responsibilities:
**

• Coordinates, conducts and completes the MDS, resident care plans and conferences and directs the work flow of MDS staff to meet deadlines.*
• *

Assures accuracy and completeness of entire medical record.
* *
Assesses training needs for RN/LPN/CNA and other health center disciplines based on resident charts and coordinates education efforts for staff to ensure staff understands the importance of documentation for reimbursement purposes.

• *

Works closely with vendors, including therapy, to partner in to maximize reimbursement. Champions and leads change/education efforts to insure compliance and clarity of documentation and services.

• Assures and monitors that MDSs are completed within HCFA and Medicare guidelines.

Ensures MDS electronic submission occurs per State regulations.

Participates in family/resident care plan conferences.

Serves as community HIPAA officer. Ensure community policies are in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Recommends and participates in training initiatives for HIPAA compliance with staff. Leads and maintains documentation on investigations pertaining to HIPAA violations.

Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to medical record documentation.

Responds to emergency calls as necessary.

Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care.

Performs other duties as assigned.

• Qualifications:*

RN currently licensed by State of Florida. Preferred RAC certified. Current CPR certification. In- depth experience and knowledge working with MDS computer software. Strong knowledge of PDPM. Experience with the MDS transmittal process and understanding of regulations impacting the MDS. Supervisory experience preferred.
