Join our dedicated and dynamic team at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences (LBIF), located in Loveladies on Long Beach Island. We are looking for a candidate who has a firm grasp on marketing for our organization, a 75 year old non-profit cultural center on LBI.

This position is ideal for a retired professional who wishes to be involved with LBIF, a cultural non-profit institution, and help promote the arts and sciences on Long Beach Island. This is part-time position up to 21 hours a week to start. Salary is commensurate with experience with commission pay opportunities.

The arts, sciences, and our unique special events can offer the business community advertising opportunities to potential clients and to build relationships. Experience should include a history in marketing or service with excellent customer service skills.

Opportunities for businesses includes advertising in our various publications that have wide regional distribution. Our many events enable sponsorship and branding for businesses. While opportunities to connect with the business community are year round, the most active months for in-person visits are from February until July. Forming relationships with the local business community is key and requires visits to the businesses on LBI and surounding communities, with an organized followed-up.

Required Job Skills & Qualifications

o Candidate must have a good deal of initiative and drive in order to find and secure new clients and business.

o Territory is primarily LBI and a 20 mile radius on the mainland

o Maintain correspondence with potential and existing clients by email, phone, in-person

o Strong interpersonal and communication skills highly important

o Must stay organized, with attention to detail and deadlines

o Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Email

o Must have their own car and live within 30 minutes of LBI

o Professional appearance

o At least two years of experience in marketing and sales

o High school diploma or GED completion. A college degree or course history in areas in advertising and communications, Associate degree or higher in marketing and business is a plus
