SUMMARY

Mckinney Trailer Rentals, a rapidly expanding semi-trailer rental and lease company with over 35,000 trailers is searching for an experienced maintenance professional for the position of Sales Manager.

The Sales Manager is responsible for overall performance and profitability of the assigned branch by managing all sales activities and contributing to the successful operations management for the branch. Responsible for performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for Branch P&L in coordination with branch Operations Manager.
  • Develops and implements branch strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals for the branch.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates.
  • Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
  • Directs pipeline development activities and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product and services.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients.
  • Meets with key clients, maintaining relationships, negotiating rates and closing deals.
  • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for branch sales activities.
  • Responsible for managing delinquent accounts.
  • In conjunction with the Operations Manager, reviews fleet for underutilized or underperforming assets; relocate or sell fleet as needed and recommend fleet additions through annual CAPEX rollup.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must have extensive sales background within the transportation, trailer, or trucking industry.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
