Section Patrolman Job at Pottawatomie County

Pottawatomie County Westmoreland, KS 66549

The Section Patrolman performs construction and/or maintenance on designated districts of gravel and dirt roads to a level that is safe for the driving public, ensures proper drainage of said roads, and performs grass, weed, and brush control within a designated district. The Section Patrolman will also assist in snow and ice removal during inclement weather.


This position will be stationed in the Southwestern portion of the County.


Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with graduation from a vocation school desired. One to three years of similar or related experience is preferred. A combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, ability, and skill will be considered.


Special Requirements:
Must have (or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment) and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position
. A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.) that are less than one year old.
