The Security Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the respective Security Shift which includes, but is not limited to, making a monthly schedule, assigning daily post orders, reviewing incident reports, assessing operations and practices, training and onboarding new hires, and approving timesheets for respective team members. The Security Supervisor is on-call for all incidents and issues occurring on the respective shift and is responsible for filling in when short-staffed. The Security Supervisor will work closely with the Director and other Supervisors to meet objectives set by the business plan and give a monthly report on incidents to ensure accurate, data-driven patrols are being conducted. This position is full-time. While the supervisor will be primarily assigned to one location and one shift, the Director may request assistance at another location or another shift.


To deliver on the Audubon mission, the Security Supervisor will:


Provide a guest experience of outstanding quality.


  • Assist in the development of protocols and implement protocols regarding the best practices to handle incidents as they arise.


  • Participate in interviewing and selecting qualified staff who are competent in Security.


  • Work with the Director to develop action plans to successfully reach goals set by the business plan.


  • Ensure that Standard Operating Guidelines and Memorandums are up-to-date and distributed properly.


  • Perform quality assurance on all reports to ensure the best documentation is being performed.


  • Exhibit and promote the uniform policy and acceptable behavior as described by the Audubon Image, the Employee Handbook, and the Department SOPs and Memorandums.


  • Create post orders for each officer daily.


  • Enforces the policies and procedures of the organization and department.


  • Maintains and reviews GuardMetrics reports and activities.


  • Address all issues and concerns from guests and staff.


  • Leads and relays all necessary information during the inter-shift briefings.


  • Completes an End of Watch Report to send to the Director daily.


Weave quality entertainment through the guest experience.


Ensures the schedule for the respective shift provides adequate coverage for the needs of each day, including, but not limited to, staffing for a special event or pre-booked busy days.


  • Assigns daily post orders to respective Security Officers each day and other tasks as needed (such as inventorying supplies, request additional supplies, equipment checks, and vehicles inspections).

  • Ensures records are being maintained for incident tracking, supply tracking, equipment checks, vehicle inspections, and call volume.


  • Creates a monthly report for the Director regarding the call volume and statistical data for the respective shift.


  • Enrolls and maintains team members on the GuardMetrics Software. Ensures the team is properly utilizing the software.


  • Performs and maintains employee files, including, but not limited to, Time & Attendance, Performance Appraisals, Corrective Actions, and Records of Conversations.


  • Attends and participates in trainings or meetings offered by Audubon Nature Institute, outside agencies, or others as recommended by the Director.

Supervision:


  • Supervises respective Security Shift at one location.


Experience:


  • Three (3) years of experience as a supervisor or above in Police or Security preferred.


Education:


  • High school diploma required


Licensure/Certification:


  • CPR certified preferred


  • Management training or certification a preferred.


Software Requirements:


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).


  • Comfortable utilizing computers


  • Electronic incident report and activity software (GuardMetrics)


Machinery/Tools/Equipment Requirements:


  • Must have the ability to use mobile devices, computer, fax, scanner, and two-way radio.


  • Working knowledge of vehicle operation (Golf Carts, Motor Vehicle, Bicycles).


Physical Requirements:


1. Sedentary Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves long periods of sitting, standing, and walking.


2. Sitting or standing, bending, stooping, and the ability to carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.


3. Constant adequate range of motion and mobility required.


4. Regular near acuity with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less required.
