As Universal Avionics' Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, you will compile, classify, verify, and maintain data and payments related to accounts payable at volumes equivalent of a mid-size manufacturer, and compile, process, and maintain payroll and timekeeping records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Accounts Payable:

  • Open vendor invoices daily and match to packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Resolve price and quantity discrepancies by working with purchasing and materials departments.
  • Voucher invoices into ERP system.
  • Process and mail vendor checks on a weekly basis.
  • Handle vendor inquiries and coordination as necessary.
  • Maintain vendor terms and information in ERP system.
  • Keep accounts payable records organized and filed on a timely basis.
  • Research and process vendor returns.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly accounts payable reports for the Controller.
  • Review and reconcile the unvouchered receipts and research vendor discrepancies.
  • Handle Annual Form 1099 Reporting Requirements.
  • Support the Accounting Team in completing relevant requirements during various audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Payroll:*
  • Compute pay according to Company policy including calculation of overtime based on 9/80 schedule.
  • Assist employees with timekeeping questions, passwords, and how to read/find data.
  • Process garnishment and child support payments.
  • Review payroll to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data exported from UKG.
  • Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have substantial knowledge of an integrated accounting and manufacturing information system. Also requires expert skills in MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Fourth Shift, Infor LN, UKG, and ADP system experience preferred.
