Compensation:

  • Annual Salary Range: $31,200 to $35,360 Per Year
  • Hourly Pay Range: $15.00 to $17.00 Per Hour
  • Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

This position will remain posted until filled. Location: KDA Laboratory located in Manhattan, Kansas.

Perform versatile duties as the Senior Administrative Assistant for the KDA Laboratory. Use client-facing skills to greet visitors; answer inquiries via phone, email or in-person; and provide daily support to the laboratory team. Prepare and send reports to KDA regulatory programs. Act as Sample Custodian for regulatory samples, when needed. Enter requisitions and travel expense reports in state accounting system (SMART).

Relay information between Kansas Metrology Laboratory (KML) teammates and KML customers. Operate KML accounts receivable.

Perform data entry and records management (paper or electronic format) as part of a quality management system. Assist with routine lab tasks such as supply inventory management, organization of common use areas, and preparation of sample collection kits. Assist in fulfillment of open records requests.

Communicate with vendors and lab personnel on lab purchases. Receive chemicals, supplies, and other packages delivered to the laboratory. Distribute packages to lab personnel. Prepare items for shipment when needed.

Other duties as assigned

Employee will report to the KDA Laboratory located in Manhattan, Kansas on a daily basis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Three (3) years of experience in clerical or office support work. Education may be substituted for experience as deemed relevant by the agency.
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets including recording important information, creating/using shortcuts and formulas, sorting and filtering data, and tracking work progress.
  • Good public speaking, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
