What You Will Do

The Senior Accountant will be a key player in providing key analysis and insights to guide decision making and improve financial performance. Provides direction ensuring the financial accounting and reporting needs of the plant operations and capital projects are met to enable the plant management team to meet their budgeted financial goals and objectives. The scope of the position includes accounting, financial reporting and analysis, SOX compliance, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, and controls

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Responsible for developing a detailed, cost-effecting budget for the project by collaborating with project manager.
  • Responsible for performing accounting duties such as budget reconciliations, forecasting cash flows, and supporting accounting team during month end close activities.
  • Report any financial risks and budget discrepancies to Plant Controller/Project Manager
  • Keep accurate record of all project finance for internal/external auditing/tax purposes.
  • Prepare cost analyses and % of project completion to keep management update of unforeseen costs.
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
  • Assign tag numbers to fixed assets
  • Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets. Review, maintain, and update the depreciation schedule

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance. Master’s Degree in
    Accounting/Finance preferred
  • 4+ years of related experience, food industry experience preferred
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change and a dynamic business environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel Skills (pivot table, vlook-up, hlook-up, index/match, VBA), Sage 100 experience, and working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365
  • Knowledge of construction cost and fixed asset accounting and related financial procedures
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills under pressing time constraints.
  • Ability to prioritize and control multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships across various functional areas both internally and externally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
