Identifies high potential areas of growth, improved profitability, or efficiency gains to target for further evaluation. Provides input for prioritizing efforts in the areas of business intelligence and data analytics.

Takes initiative and works independently to conduct special studies to analyze complex financial data; prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action plans to achieve growth, improved profitability, or efficiency gains.

Collaborates with other finance team analysts and proactively identifies and uses computer software such as Excel and Power BI that effectively support analyses and decision-making.

Uses critical thinking skills and in-depth analyses to provide accurate and reliable financial information in a format that is useful and meaningful for decision making and planning.

Prepares financial models in support of associate compensation reviews, partner summary statistics and lateral hiring and presents analyses to firm leadership and committees.

Prepares and updates office-level financial summary reports and presentations and coordinates inputs from other finance team analyst to assure consistency and accuracy of current and historical data.

Prepares financial summary reports and schedules for monthly, year-end and ad hoc requests by creating and using appropriate datasets leading to streamlined and efficient financial reporting processes.

Provides interpretation of and applies financial policies, economic theory and accounting principles.

Analyzes financial information to determine present and predict future financial performance.

Identifies macro-level financial trends and recommends improvements accordingly.

Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements.

Contributes and coordinates the preparation of reports and schedules in areas such as monthly inventory, revenue forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.

Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts.

Provides training, advice and workflow assistance to less experienced staff.

Supports teams that have responsibility for evaluating and implementing process improvements. Completes internal process review, documents internal processes and provides recommendations for improved productivity and/or cost savings.

Communicates courteously and professionally by phone and in person, using good communication skills.

Operates office equipment such as phones and photocopy machines.

Maintains a neat and orderly workplace.

Follows adequate safety procedures while carrying out all duties.

Keeps supervisor abreast of current issues and potential problems as they develop; seeks advice as needed.

Requirements:
BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, Mathematics or related field; graduate degree/MBA in finance preferred; at least five years experience with complex financial analyses and reporting; law firm experience preferable.
