Job Summary
The primary role of the Senior Product Specialist is to support the Sales Team and Sales Representatives through their technical and application knowledge. This may include, but is not limited to product demonstrations, installations, training, and technical support. By being a liaison among sales, marketing, and engineering, the Product Specialist supports the launch of new products through the development of sales support tools. In addition, the Senior Product Specialist, by interacting directly with customers, will have significant input into defining product and technology roadmaps for future Kanomax products.

Primary Responsibilities

· Provide technical sales support, both internal and through distributors

  • Evaluate customer problem/application
  • Provide guidance to distributors for demonstrations and sample analysis
  • Interface directly with customers and distributors to address questions and performance issues
  • Design and conduct experiments to evaluate customer samples on-site and at customer facility
  • Prepare technical experiment reports to support sales and marketing

· Assist the Research and Development team for new product and application development

  • Experiment design, data collection, and reporting
  • Provide voice of customer input
  • Provide guidance on specifications
  • Design and perform experiments to verify specifications

· Solve customer’s problems using Kanomax products. This can include system and method development to tailor Kanomax products to the particular customer application.

· Provide product training to regional sales managers and application engineers from all regions

· Be the product application expert for Kanomax instruments

· Research applications to understand how to apply instruments in targeted industries

· Support installations and demonstrations to validate applications; this includes preparing instruments for demonstrations and workshops, and also traveling to customer sites

· Conduct customer training

· Support trade shows as product experts and deliver conference papers

· Write application notes for new and existing products to promote their adoption and raise their visibility in the market

· Provide technical content for sales collateral

· Conduct seminars and workshops on the application of Kanomax instruments into target markets

· Support Beta test efforts for new particle products

· Conduct competitive analysis through literature review and product testing

· Generate and maintain product literature including brochures and manuals

· Manage product pages on company website

· Interface directly with customers to resolve customer technical issues

Basic Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or scientific discipline required.

· Master’s Degree or PhD is desired.

· Knowledge of Particle Measurements is desired.

· Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing is desired

· Customer interaction experience is desired.

· Knowledge of best practices for experimental design and execution

· Familiarity with analytical methods and working in an analytical laboratory environment

· Strong technical knowledge and experience to be able to communicate effectively with the engineering teams and customers

· Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), reasoning, and planning skills

· Excellent problem-solving techniques; solid decision-making techniques

· Ability to train customers and sales staff in ways that are relevant to their objectives and knowledge

· Good practice in the usage of spreadsheets (e.g. MS Excel), scheduling software (e.g. MS Project), presentation software (e.g. MS PowerPoint), word processing (e.g. MS Word), email tools (e.g. Outlook), and document management software (e.g. SharePoint). Ability to effectively convey summarized information in graphical and chart formats

· Proven ability to execute and drive results

Working Conditions

· Monday-Friday, normal office hours. Frequent additional hours required outside of normal working times, including weekends, due to special projects, meetings, travel and project related events.

· Mixture of laboratory and office environment.

· Frequent travel (up to 25%) required to visit customers to support demonstrations and installations and to attend trade shows to support sales and build market knowledge.

Salary and Benefits

· Annual salary $80k-$120k based on experience and education level

· 401k matching up to 4% of salary
