WHO YOU ARE
The SENIOR PURCHASING AGENT, leads the identification and selection of suppliers for Capital and Equipment Projects and Multi-Site MRO Products . The position will be responsible for driving a culture of quality, timeliness, fiscal responsibility and best value. This will be achieved by close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, EHS, and legal teams.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Ensures the best value for the company by searching out reliable supply options for identified projects.
  • Work with Engineering/Manufacturing teams to develop comprehensive scope documents for capital/equipment projects.
  • Works with EHS/Manufacturing teams develop multi-site contracts for MRO products where appropriate.
  • Analyzes data sets/quotes and determine best value options and prepare summary presentations for use in executive approval.
  • Negotiates contracts and agreements with suppliers and distributors.
  • Works with legal team to ensure contracts are in line with corporate directives and best practices.
  • Identifies new suppliers, processes, and products to assist in the development of new products.
  • Works with domestic logistic team on operating leases, service contracts, etc
  • Works with internal departments to resolve any pricing, invoicing, receiving concerns
  • Works with suppliers to ensure adherence to timelines and scope leading ultimately to on-time delivery of their product.
  • Works with other departments to assist with miscellaneous projects, purchases and contracts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field is preferred
  • 5-10 years in Purchasing field
  • Capital/Equipment and MRO buying experience
  • Strong PC skills including the Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Excel and Word
  • Very strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
  • Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues
  • Ability to assess multiple tasks and develop a plan to complete them in a logical and efficient manner
  • Ability to tackle a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
  • Ability to work independently supporting multiple manufacturing locations
  • Ability to maintain a consistently high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to skillfully negotiate in such a way that creative solutions are developed to satisfy all parties
  • Able to travel to domestic and international locations on need.
