Job Title: Shuttle Bus Driver

Location: Joint Base Lewis McCord, Washington

Position Summary:

The Shuttle Bus Driver drives a 15 Passenger Van to transport individuals following routes and stops specified on JBLM. The Bus Driver will make trips off the installation as needed. The Shuttle Bus Driver is responsible for the safe operation of equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Pick up passengers and transport them along defined routes and various stops on JBLM.
• Always maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor.
• Follow all traffic regulations.
• Check assigned shuttle bus for cleanliness inside and out, along with damage prior to being deployed. Report any problem with the shuttle bus to the supervisor for proper corrective action.
• Observe shift attendance and assigned service schedules.
• Ensure complete knowledge of assigned shuttle routes.
• Assist boarding passengers with their baggage if called for.
• Communicate location and traffic condition with dispatcher or supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Government Motor Vehicle Operators Identification Card.
• Clean driving record.
• Flexible schedule.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

General Requirements:

• Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
• High School diploma or GED certificate.
• Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.
• Maintains tools and equipment and cleans work areas to maintain a safe work environment.
• Be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary.
• Ensure that all tasks are performed safely and meet Government/Army standards.
• Wearing safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g., gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.
