Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager...

In this role, you will:
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of individual contributor engineer roles with low to moderate complexity and less experienced managers who are responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release, reviewing application changes prior to deployment, and post-deployment validations
  • Engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture to enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example, cloud readiness, application modernization and data strategy
  • Function as the technical expert for the product and lead major incidents.
  • Identify, recommend, own, and drive opportunities for improvement either individually within the teams, by partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Identify Monitoring, Observability, Resiliency, Automation gaps/opportunities within the portfolio of applications and build robust solutions using enterprise tools like Splunk, App D, Elastic, Ansible, Java, and other enterprise tools.
  • Identify lessons learned, deep Root Cause Analysis and establish clear plans and influence the technology teams in implementing the lessons learned
  • Act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to make decisions and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement culture
  • Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering including career development and performance management for engineers and managers on the team
  • Hire, mentor and guide talent development of direct reports to build the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for the supported product areas/products
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a hands-on technical role such as software engineer (Java Technologies) or similar role
  • 4+ years of experience leading and executing complex technology transformational programs across an enterprise
  • 4+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 5+ years of technology engineering experience
  • 2+ years delivering cloud-based solutions (public and/or private) and cloud operations (GCP Cloud Operations)
Required Qualifications, International:
  • Experience in Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with distributed software, system, networking, and cloud computing
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Prior software development experience in a Java Environment
  • Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change
  • Ability to motivate a team and lead strategic initiatives, collaborating across a large organization and multi-tasking as required
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology leadership, and internal service providers.
  • Familiar with AppDynamics, Splunk, Elastic, Ansible tower and Ansible scripting
  • Familiar with F5 Load Balance and AppViewX.
Job Expectations:
  • Flexibility to work additional hours outside regular business hours.
  • This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • On-call or escalation support 24 *7 as needed
Pay Range
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00 Annual
