Permit Specialists are responsible for obtaining all necessary construction related permits for various telecom projects. Permit Specialists will work with the engineering team to resolve any conflicts that arise during permitting and shall track multiple, concurrent permit submittals. This is a remote position. Candidates can work anywhere in the U.S. - Eastern time zone is preferred, but not a requirement.

What you'll do...
  • You will access various databases that provide engineering and facility assignment records.
  • You will use traffic control plan and excavation permit cable facilities using appropriate tools such as Microstation/AutoCAD Maps, preparation and acquisition of necessary permits for OSP facilities
  • You will convert and manipulate CAD drawing into permit drawings for various jurisdictions.
  • You will schedule, submit and track permits to meet critical engineering design due dates.
  • You will perform daily assigned tasks as related to specific functions that may include any combination of drawings, review of or the creation or update of permits.
  • You will complete general clerical duties, tasks, or special projects as required or assigned
Qualifications:
Who we are looking for…
  • You will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You must have excellent communication skills, experience working with permitting agencies and experience with OSP telecom builds. Must be familiar with the process of acquiring Excavation & Traffic Control permits, Google Maps, and the ability to read work prints
  • You must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Needs the ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively; and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all staff. This position requires the ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and re-prioritize daily workload and work with minimum supervision and the ability to meet deadlines, establish deadlines, and to prioritize deadlines.
