Position: Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant maintains and controls the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.
Job Duties:
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
- Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entry
- Assists in weekly/monthly customer billing process, which includes the analysis of timecards, comparison to contracted hours & calculations of credits or additional billing among multiple entities
- Perform monthly bank settlements
- Prepare month-end/year-end financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, cashflow statement, P&L by customer, etc.
- Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
- Provide detailed analyses and explanations of transactions and other financial information
- Prepare documentation for external CPA’s
- Prepares consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
- Completes reports as required by company banks
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Follow company’s established accounting processes
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Associate degree with an emphasis in accounting from 2-year college or technical school; Bachelor’s degree preferred
2-4 years accounting experience
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume.
Proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
Physical demands and abilities:
- Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and a computer
- Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
- Regularly work on repetitive tasks

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
