Summer Sports Camp Assistant

The Riverside Park Conservancy works in partnership with the City of New York to maintain and improve Riverside Park for the enjoyment and benefit of all New
Yorkers. We support the preservation of the park’s historic landscape, structures, and monuments, engage the community in active stewardship of the park, and provide a wide range of public programs.

Riverside Park Conservancy’s Summer Sports Camp is a weekly day camp for children ages 4 to 16.

Sports available for our campers are soccer, baseball, basketball, tennis, flag football, volleyball and gymnastics, as well as multi-sport camp options. The camp uses the sports fields and courts in Riverside Park between 96th and 110th Streets as well as the fields and courts in Fort Washington Park between 158th and 181st Streets.

Position Summary
Riverside Park Conservancy is looking to hire a seasonal, part-time Sports Camp
Assistant. This position will provide administrative support for our Sports Camp
Manager and assist with the daily operation of our Multi-Sport Camp.

Qualifications:
Ability to operate Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be a quick learner. Basic understanding of statistics and ability to enter data and operate our Exceed database. Person must be punctual, have an attention to detail, and very organized. Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions. Be able to lift at least 50ibs. This position ideal for Business majors or students interested in the nonprofit field and youth services.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Answer phones, screen, and direct calls
• Assist in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of supplies for camp
• Perform duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, mailing, using postage meter
• Maintain database; prepare weekly lunch and late pickup lists
• Help with organization of scholarship applications and screening
• Keep accurate records of campers that make program switches
• Check camp grounds when camp manager is not available

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $17.50 - $20.50 per hour
