SUMMARY

Protect the integrity of tribal assets (money/physical assets/personnel); by ensuring the staff is fluent in all areas of regulation, policy and the utilization of Surveillance equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Handles the primary point of initial communication, at all hours, for the Surveillance staff regarding emergency situations, suspicious activity, malfunctions and any operational questions involving the Surveillance department and/or it’s equipment.
  • Interacts professionally with all levels of management, Internal Audit, Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission, Loss Prevention, Security and other agencies to perform services, provide information, verify the validity of requests and process valid requests in a timely manner.
  • Creates, analyzes, verifies and submits weekly audit reports concerning violations of TICS and departmental policy and procedures to responsible Managers and other interested parties.
  • Engages in two-way communication with all levels of Surveillance staff regarding daily operations, expectations and goals.
  • Ensures all projects and tasks are reviewed and meet departmental standards and any associated deadlines.
  • Coaches, engages, and disciplines employees. When necessary, the responsibilities include issuing corrective actions, coordinating with Employee Services and escalation to departmental management to optimize employee effectiveness.
  • Tracks job performance, attendance and productivity of each employee over the course of the year, and issue annual performance appraisal.
  • Creates and manages employee schedules to ensure maximum efficiency and deployment for the department.
  • Ensures all regulatory standards are maintained, taking in to account leave requests and absences.
  • Creates reports on both a monthly and weekly basis that detail the productivity statistics of the department and analyze trends for issuance to Surveillance Management.
  • Participates in the hiring process to include interviewing, candidate assessment, validation of qualification and processing of administrative documentation.
  • Remains fully versed regarding all regulatory standards, including but not limited to; NICG MICS, CNGC TICS, OHRC Rules of Racing & Gaming and applicable State Compact regulations. Responsible for ensuring and communicating compliance with the above stated regulatory authorities.
  • Facilitates the presentation on the topic of Surveillance to all New Hire Orientation at their respective property(s).
  • Conducts regular meetings with property surveillance leadership team to discuss and address issues involving personnel development, on-going projects, goals and the vision for the future of the department.
  • Creates, presents and monitors training of all employees to ensure internal continuing education requirements are met and the training adapts to changes in the environment.
  • Facilitates and supervises training for all respective new hires at their property(s).
  • Adheres to confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Handles prompt notification and coordination to Surveillance Management and Surveillance Technical staff in the event of any system/equipment malfunction.
  • Inspects and maintains proper chain of custody and storage procedures, in accordance with regulation, on all video evidence, physical evidence and reports generated by Surveillance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

Leads and guides the work of others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in related field. Required to complete Surveillance Professional Development Series within the first 6 months of employment. Cherokee Nation Gaming and/or Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission License required. Requires at least 4 years of relevant leadership experience supervising others. Also requires experience in preparing and/or reviewing investigative reports. Must have experience with Video Management software (ex: Milestone, ONSSI, Genetec) and other IP related surveillance tools. The following course and/or training are preferred: IP Security Training, NIGC Surveillance Training, IP Camera Training, Applied Image Quality Training, Video Management System End User Training, Video Analytic Training and Certification in Surveillance Application and Advances.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have working knowledge of NIGC, CNGC, OHRC and State Compact standards and regulations.
  • Must be familiar with departmental policies & procedures and regulatory standards for the following topics included but not limited to; Cage Operations, Card and Table Games, Gaming Operations, Employee Services, Marketing, Food and Beverage, Security, etc.
  • Experience in delivering corrective actions and counseling employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio), iView/iTrak reporting software, IGT Advantage applications, and other related casino reporting software.
  • Must possess proficiency with Video Management software and other IP Security Tools
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, leadership and analytical skills and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate via two-way radio system and telephonic communication.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licensing by the appropriate gaming authority.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is occasionally exposed to smoke and noise. This position requires the employee to consistently view electronic displays, sit for extended periods and be subjected to flashing light sources, electronic noise and dim lighting. Must be able to life and carry 10 lbs.
