We are looking for a Talent Acquisition HR Generalist (Field Recruiter) to be responsible for building and implementing effective, proactive recruitment strategies to address immediate talent needs of the organization. This position will facilitate the recruitment process, including posting internal and external job postings (social media, agencies, universities, job boards, and associations).


This selected candidate will also provide support to the Executive Manager of Human Resources in all areas of HR including but not limited to employee relations, disciplinary actions, benefit enrollment, performance management, employee engagement activities, and HR projects.


This job requires regular travel between our stores and energy locations between Bar Harbor and Caribou, Maine. This is not a remote position.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring, including collaborating with hiring managers in screening applications, arranging interviews, coordinating assessments, and contacting applicants.

  • Represents the company at recruitment events, job fairs, and other field marketing.

  • Build and maintain relationships with local agencies, colleges, and high schools to further promote the organization and talent pipeline.

  • Ensures the accurate and timely completion of all required new associate documentation including background checks and drug screening. Prepares associates for orientation.

  • Focus HR activities in staffing, development, performance management, and managing and measuring the impact of HR practices.

  • Act as an internal business consultant, forging relationships across the organization.

  • Is knowledgeable about HR trends, industry best practices, and HR technology, and how these could be utilized to deliver better value to customers and/or employees.

  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions ensuring policies, procedures and reporting comply.

  • Ability to develop effective relationships and dedicated to collaboration with hiring managers and candidates.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and possess strong analytical skills.

  • Must have a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must understand and comply with job related state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Thorough understanding and/or experience utilizing online job boards and social media platforms for recruiting purposes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of four years of experience in increasing responsibilities in Human Resources

  • Minimum of four years of experience in professional level recruiting

  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills

  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments

  • Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately

  • Able to read and analyze professional journals, general business periodicals, technical procedures, safety and operations manuals, financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, regulatory and legal agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, top management, clients, customers, boards of directors and the general public.
