TAP ROOM ASSOCIATE

Vitamin Sea Brewing was established in 2019. One of the fastest growing and highly regarded breweries in the country, we are seeking a part-time Tap Room Server to join our growing team as we move into the the Workhub Substation in Roslindale from March 3rd to May 20th. There may also be future opportunities with Vitamin Sea Brewing following the conclusion of residency at the Substation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Server with Vitamin Sea Brewing, the candidate will work the bar and retail sales areas at our temporary location in Roslindale receiving an hourly rate plus tips. Servers are expected to arrive an hour before the shift begins to set up for the day. Available shifts are Fridays from 3pm to 10pm and Saturday's from noon until 10pm. Other dates may also become available for special events. Successful candidates will be a vital part of our brewery and will contribute to elevated levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Serve Vitamin Sea Brewing’s craft beers and other beverages in the tasting room
• Sell Vitamin Sea Brewing’s merchandise
• Be able to answer questions and make recommendations regarding our beer selection
• Be knowledgeable about Vitamin Sea Brewing’s beer and brewing process
• Be able to discuss the elements of craft beer to patrons
• Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the Point-of-Sale system
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change
• Clean bar area and glassware
• Wash and sterilize glassware
• Clear and reset tables
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to manager
• Be familiar with Vitamin Sea Brewing’s promotions and sales and assist with special events
• Complete opening and closing duties under the direction of managers
• Demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
• Be respectful of trade secrets and proprietary information, confidentiality is paramount

Qualifications

• Possess a valid, State of Massachusetts approved, server training certification
• Strong knowledge of tap room operations and service procedures
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Possess basic math skills, possess the ability to handle money and operate a cash register and POS system
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours)
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Punctual and regular, reliable attendance

• Basic computer skills and knowledge
• Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment

• Well-versed or possess a willingness to learn: beer history; brewing techniques; preparation techniques, styles, flavor profiles

• Must be at least 21 years old
