We are currently recruiting energetic team members for our Pro Shop at the Racquet Club.


Job Summary

Provide customer service to all customers and guests; Organize and maintain inventory and displays in the shop; Answer phones and provide assistance for all inquiries; Checkout retail and Racquet Club customers; Assist Retail and Racquet Club Professionals with Racquet Club operation needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greets members and guests of resort, makes them feel welcome, and helps meet their needs.
  • Answers questions from customers regarding merchandise for sale, tennis, pickleball and available playing time.
  • Assists with receiving, unpacking, and pricing merchandise.
  • Assists with taking inventory, inventory control, and sales records.
  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of merchandise and equipment for resale.
  • Assists with special orders, mailing, etc.

The impact of decision-making and the potential gain or loss to the resort in performing the job responsibilities.

The decision-making must ensure good guest service balanced with shop sales revenue. This position has the ability to affect directly Resort revenue. There are considerable resort liability issues in failing to perform the job responsibilities. Increased resort revenues from Pro Shop sales as well as additional Resort business can result from high levels of performance in the job.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute quickly correct change.

Ability to project a service-mentality with a warm, caring attitude while maintaining order and efficiency. Individual must be responsible and have the maturity to be able to work alone. Must have good guest-service skills and be capable of handling effectively difficult guests and guest complaints. Must be able to work in a teamwork environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use calculator, computer-based cash registers, and point-of-sale systems is required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of merchandise/equipment for sales and playing time opportunities and limitations.
  • Experience in retail sales is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

S.C. driver's license or other state license that is free of violations that would restrict commercial insurance qualification.
