The Recreation Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of our TR program which meets the physical, mental, psycho-social and spiritual needs of our residents.

Duties:

Major job functions of the Recreation Specialist include: Planning and conducting activity programs under direct supervision; assisting with outings; recruiting and transporting residents to and from programs; conducting one to one therapeutic visits with residents; assisting in planning special events; responsible for a caseload of residents and records daily attendance; gives input for care/family conferences; assisting with decorations and publicity of therapeutic programs.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a special interest in working with geriatric residents. In addition, the individual must assume responsibility for learning and following therapeutic recreational techniques and documentation procedures. Position requires the ability to generate enthusiasm during programs and be willing to participate in special events. Excellent communication skills are needed. The ability to follow oral and written directions is needed as well.

This position is part time- Monday, Tuesday, Friday at 4:30pm to 9:00pm and every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday) 8:30am to 3:30pm.
