Third Party Biller Job at Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center
Job Summary
Position is responsible to create all third party billing claims, select appropriate payer, export electronic submission to all Clearinghouse providers and work as a team with the Accounts Receivable staff and Certified Coders to ensure correct coding initiatives are followed per coding guidelines or payer specific requirements are followed. They are part of a critical team to protect revenue and responsible to comply with all internal and external policies and guidelines regarding third party billing and coding. All duties and responsibilities will be performed in accordance with the Yellowhawk Mission and Vision statements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Reviews all claims that hit the Third Party Billing Brief Claim listing and ensure claims are created approved in the Resource Patient Management System.
- Ensures claims matches what is within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) prior to approval.
- Selects proper export mode and create claims for a multitude of clinics, such as Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health and Community Health.
- Ensures all claims are worked prior to timely filing expiration.
- Submits any electronic submissions, 837P, 837D or 835 format and ensure they are accepted within 24 hours of submission, when possible.
- Ensures all export verifications are received, match, and are filed daily.
- Ensures claims needed dropped to paper are processed and mailed.
- Works with all Clearinghouse vendors to resolve any electronic claim submission errors within a five work day maximum.
- Cancels claims as approved by the Lead Accounts Receivable or Business Office Manager.
- Communicates all issues or concerns timely to the Business Office Manager and or Accounts Receivable.
- Other duties as assigned.
