THE POSITION

Position Title Trade Support Analyst/Associate

Reports to Associate Portfolio Manager

Position Summary

The Trade Support Analyst/Associate supports Portfolio Managers in trade preparation, execution, and post-trade management. This includes gathering information from the dealer community, preparing orders, ticketing, settlements, and researching and resolving trade breaks and other problems. The role will support the investment team across cash fixed income and swaps and will interface both internally across the investment and accounting teams while also working with external counterparties. This is a high visibility role with growth opportunity for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely trade entry, reconciliation, and settlements support to the NLG Capital trading desk
  • Settle trades and resolve trade breaks through contact with external counterparties
  • Coordinate collateral movement between the firm and derivative counterparties
  • Support large order preparation for execution via electronic platforms and portfolio trading
  • Interface as directed by Portfolio Managers and Traders to gather information from dealers in support of trading activity
  • Reconcile data sources and ensure proper data entry across both front and back office systems, proactively researching and resolving issues
  • Assist with additional ad hoc projects and reporting

THE PERSON

Pivotal Experience & Expertise

  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 2 years of trade support experience
  • Familiarity with securities markets and applicable systems including Bloomberg
  • Experience settling DTC instruments, swaps, and/or with collateral movement a strong plus
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, Python, and/or VBA) and BI tools (Microsoft BI, Tableau) considered a plus
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently
  • Active student of the fixed income markets, with a passion for their work
