Responsibilities
- Transcribes reports from dictation at an acceptable pace and degree of accuracy.
- Maintains open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Presents a positive image to community and professional contacts.
- Promotes professionalism with the department, hospital, and community; acts as a role model.
- Assures that the dictation is complete and readable, matches the exam ordered, and is not contradictory. Consults the appropriate radiologist for verification.
- Transcribes reports in a timely manner according to departmental policy.
- Attends hospital and department meetings and inservices.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient/personnel information.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical terminology and anatomy experience.
- One-year experience in medical transcription preferred.
Pay Range
$16.26 - $22.36 /hour
