Huntington Learning Center of Portland is a well-established and rapidly growing learning center serving students in K-12. Founded in 1977, Huntington Learning Center is the oldest and only accredited provider of supplemental education services for primary and secondary students in the United States. Our mission is to provide every student with the best education possible, which is why all of our programs are individualized using state of the art diagnostic tools to target the strengths and needs of each student.

What can we offer you?

• Extensive paid training (8-10 hours to start) and ongoing professional development

• Work 1:1 with students on a flexible schedule

• Program design, communication with parents, and scheduling are all taken care of by our center staff so that you can focus on what matters most—teaching!

• Pay rate typically starts between $18-22/hour, and can be negotiable based on education and experience.

What do you need to apply?

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required

• Experience: At least one year working closely with students in an academic setting

• Availability: Must be available at least two days/week to work in-person with students during after school hours

What will you provide for your students?

• Foundational Skills Tutoring (grades K-12): Support students in building their foundational reading, writing, and math skills

• Subject Tutoring (grades 6-12): Support students with their school class content and study skills. We are hiring tutors for all levels of math (pre-algebra through calculus), all levels of writing (basic responses through college essays), and all levels of science (including biology, chemistry, and physics)

• Exam Prep Tutoring (grades 6-12): Support students in their preparation for exams like ISEE, HSPT, ACT, and SAT

We are located in Bethany Village, so please keep travel time in mind when applying, as this is a part-time position.
