Spatial Front provides IT solutions to federal, state, and local governments, and the private sector. We are looking for a UX Design to join our team on a long-term contract for USDA FAS. This is a remote full-time position.

This project includes an IT modernization effort whereby you’ll work with stakeholders across functions and levels and have impact at all stages of product development. You’ll play a critical role in creating useful, usable, and delightful products. You’ll explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Gather and evaluate UX & UI requirements in collaboration with product owners, business analysts, and developers
  • Compile and analyze research, create user flows, wireframe solutions, mockup UIs and design experiences
  • Participate in transforming high-level product roadmap initiatives into robust features that fully serve the needs of our customers
  • Produces high-quality UX design solutions through journey maps, wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes
  • Speak with product users to find paint points in the product
  • Ability to advocate for UX and the UX process
  • Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
  • Relevant product research experience, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting.
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
  • Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact.
  • Experience facilitating design sessions or design workshops with teams
  • Experience leading design efforts within complex organizations or highly regulated environments
  • Proven experience solving complex communication problems and designing world-class experiences for large-scale programs.
  • Proficiency with wireframe and visual design tools such as Figma.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work well in a team setting.
Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of related experience

  • In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems. You must have lived in the US for the past three (3) years.
  • All candidates will be subject to a complete background check to include, but not limited to Criminal History, Education Verification, Professional Certification Verification, Verification of Previous Employment and Credit History.
