The Role

The Vehicle Service Technician will support technical product requests from all areas of the Xos organization. Knowledge of the complete vehicle, in addition to Xos battery systems, is key to success in this position. Working as a team, the Vehicle Service Technician will move between Xos facilities and local customer job-sites to perform various tasks on Xos products.

This role is integral in both pre and post production validation and testing. Detailed reporting on the outcomes of each request is required to ensure objectives are met and performance is measured. Address product concerns to advance product quality and future development.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of high voltage safety, and how to operate safely within these contexts
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) electrical diagnosis, controls and module programming
  • In depth knowledge of basic electrical concepts, including the use of various meters
  • Exceptional knowledge of regular commercial truck mechanical systems (experience with motors and harness systems preferred)
  • Communicate with suppliers for parts and general supplies
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Complete training objectives as assigned by management
  • Accountable, responsible, and reliable in the face of every project
  • Provides professional customer-facing support
  • Flexible working hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends (schedule to be set at time of hire)
  • Willingness to analyze telematics data and determine probable cause and solution
  • Document telematics data and organize into a format for troubleshooting trees and service manuals
  • Provide feedback as needed for product improvement

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Vocational Certificate in automotive service technology, related discipline, or 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of Google Suite applications
  • Proven aptitude for electrical systems, both low and high voltage
  • ASE Certifications are a plus
  • Team player attitude is a must
  • Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
  • Experience in assembly line or building environments a plus
  • Ability to learn new software quickly

The salary range for this role is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Xos Inc. reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skillset, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, geographic location, and other business or organizational factors.

  • California: $20.00 - $27.00/ hour
