Company Background

Sokol & Company is a 125+ year-old custom food manufacturing business located outside of Chicago. The Company supplies many of the world’s largest CPG companies along with the next generation of fast growing consumer brands.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President of Sales, Retail & Branded, will be the owner of the Company’s retail and branded product lines. This includes the Company’s own brands (Solo) and licensed brands (Sunkist, Jim Beam, Dickey’s). You will be accountable for delivering planned revenue, profit, growing market share and distribution and managing trade spend for the portfolio of products. The ideal candidate will be based in Chicago and will be responsible for strategically partnering with grocery customers, brokers, and distributors.

  • Deliver and maintain financial targets – sales, profit, market share, store count and trade spending thru direct selling, distributor, and broker management.
  • Deliver monthly forecasts for all products, major customers/distributors
  • Work with internal team to translate overall business objectives into customer strategy and tactics, and then execute w/ excellence.
  • Create and execute a sustainable category and share growth plan for the grocery channel.
  • Develop, execute, and evaluate business plans to exceed financial objectives.
  • Sell-in/execute strategies to improve distribution, shelving, pricing and merchandising.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide accurate market/customer reporting to customer and company.

Qualifications

  • 7-15 years of brand and account management within CPG (highly reputable company with track record of developing top notch sales leaders is preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent relevant experience
  • Top customer experience and broker management experience preferred (Walmart, HEB, Meijer, Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Ahold, Giant Eagle, Club Store, and other regional grocery players)
  • Persuasive communicator (oral and written) with external and internal stakeholders
  • Experience in succeeding in fast paced small enterprise environment
  • Planning and business management experience with the ability to develop joint business plans and penetrate different markets for additional market share
  • Travel Required (~50%)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
