WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT

POSITION DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT: Warehouse

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Warehouse Manager

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

To assist with all warehouse functions including shipping and receiving.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Assist with all warehouse operations and inventory management related activities. This will require a willingness to learn Midwest’s product structure, warehouse layout, and the inventory software system used to maintain inventory levels.
• Perform shipping and receiving duties. This includes signing for, inspecting, and unpacking all incoming shipments/packages. This also includes shipping outbound packages with a specified carrier (SpeeDee, UPS, Fedex, USPS, or LTL).
• Operate and maintain all warehouse equipment including fork lift, pallet jack, pallets, pallet racking, and shelving.
• Assist with the return or removal of old/obsolete inventory whether through selling, scraping, or destroying.
• Perform other duties, as assigned by the Manager including, but not limited to, organizing the warehouse, cycle counts, general maintenance and cleaning, delivering parts, etc.
• Drive light duty vehicles in order to deliver and pick up materials and supplies.
• Suggest improved methods and practices for the business operations when experience and common sense dictates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have high school education or higher.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects (75lbs +).
• Must be comfortable working on their feet for 8 hrs.
• Must be organized, clean, and detailed.
• Warehouse experience is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

• Warehouse distribution: 1 year (Preferred)
