BRANDSMART USA DISTRIBUTION PROCESSOR

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Shift is 7:30am - 3:30pm

The company carries a wide variety of products. The actual tasks performed by a Processor depend largely upon the mix of products received during any shift. Processors may be assigned to various locations depending upon demands, which change from day to day. Therefore, Processors are required to perform the necessary task of processing all the different types of products handled by

BrandsMart USA. These tasks are performed under general supervision.

1. Opens and Sorts Products and Verifies Contents
Products arrive at the distribution center directly from the manufacturers in boxes ranging from

5 to 250 pounds. These will be transported to the appropriate processing area.

1. Where applicable Processors must open these boxes, remove the product, sort the product, count the items, and verify that the product matches the quantity, color, and specifications on the shipping label or packing slip. This information must be verified on either a manual ledger or computer terminal.

2. Depending on the nature of the product being sorted, verification may involve identification of products by size, style, color, make, model, and quantity.

3. Processors must be able to move boxes from pallets and/or stacks up to six feet tall onto shelves or conveyor mechanisms that are between two and four feet off the floor. Product may have to be moved a distance ranging from 5 to 50 feet from where it is stacked and/or palletized.

4. On some shifts Processors will not conduct any sorting and their duties will be limited to moving boxes from pallets to distribution or sorting areas. They are expected to do so at a minimum rate of 100 boxes per hour.

5. Opening boxes usually involves the use of scissors and/or small cutting tools to cut through shipping tape or other packaging. Sufficient dexterity is necessary to perform these functions.

2. Tags and Labels Products with BrandsMart USA Tags, Clasps, or Other Labels
After products are sorted and verified, tags and/or labels are affixed. Supervisors distribute labels to the appropriate processing areas to be affixed by the processors to sorted and counted products.

1. Processors must accurately affix labels to items without damage to the products.

2. Processors must ensure the label description matches the item to which it is attached.

3. Production standards have been set for affixing labels to various types of items.

Processors must be able to label a minimum of 250 items per hour.

3. Packing Boxes and Sealing Products
Each Processor must be able to package or stack products weighing from 5 to 75 pounds without assistance and from 75 to 150 pounds with assistance. Seal boxes using packing tape, strapping or other devices as directed, and transport those boxes onto pallets for shipment. Any of these boxes may have to be moved distances up to 50 feet onto pallets.

4. Observe Quality Standards
All Processors are expected to watch all products for manufacturer defects, detect defects to or damage of products and promptly report any observed flaws. Processors are also expected to handle products without damaging or breaking products.

5. Loss Prevention
Observe co-workers, supervisors and visitors and promptly report any evidence of theft or inappropriate diversion of products.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Processors may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as a needed basis:

1. Cleans and maintains processing area, using brooms and/or mops; removes trash, debris, and empty boxes; removes dust or debris that could damage products; and other cleaning as directed by supervisors.

2. Assist in shipping/receiving. During periods of high volume in shipping and/or receiving

Processors may be required to assist in the heavy labor functions of loading and unloading trucks.

3. Forklift operations. In some cases, processors may be cross-trained as a Forklift Operator to be able to fill in during breaks, vacations, and other special circumstances, as directed by supervisors.

4. Records incoming and outgoing material and assists managers in tracking goods as they pass through the distribution center. Some Processors who are identified as candidates for possible promotion may be cross-trained in their duties as first-time supervisors, to fill in during breaks and when supervisors are unexpectedly ill. In these circumstances, Processors may also be required to train co-workers and/or direct operations, under general supervision.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Individuals must possess and be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to the essential function of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1. Ability to read English (or another language as may be required for one specific store) sufficiently to read identifying information on manufacturer boxes, invoices, or other materials and information.

2. Basic English writing skills for completion of various written paperwork and accompanying goods that are processed.

3. Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, are necessary to be able to count and sort goods received from manufacturers.

4. Ability to grasp and lift or otherwise move goods up to 75 pounds unassisted and 150 pounds with assistance at a distance of 50 feet, the number of times per hour required by

BrandsMart USA. These tasks usually require the use of two arms and hands and a moderate level of strength in both arms and hands. These tasks ordinarily require moderate upper body strength. Individuals with lower back problems cannot ordinarily perform them without significant risk of injury.

5. Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate all labeling equipment, scissors, and other tools used to open boxes, label, or tag goods, and reseal boxes, as well as the use of computers, handheld and others.

6. Ability to grasp and lift or otherwise move items from boxes, place items back in boxes, open and seal boxes and perform other tasks outlined above. These tasks usually require the use of two arms and hands and a moderate level of strength in both arms and hands.

7. Ability to stand and/or sit and continuously perform essential position functions for a seven- and one-half hour shift, with two fifteen-minute breaks and one-half hour meal break, without a significant risk of serious injury.

8. Ability to learn and perform accurately all essential Distribution Processor position functions with minimal direct supervision, within two weeks after the employee begins work.

9. Some knowledge of BrandsMart USA’s mission, purpose, and goals, and the role of the Distribution Processor in achieving them.

OTHER ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS
The position of Distribution Center Processor is a physically demanding position. The functions are usually performed sitting and may involve stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying, and other movements to continuously move, sort, label, stack, unstack, load, unload and repackage goods. Tasks such as cutting, labeling, manipulating levers and steering involve extensive wrist and hand movements. All individuals are required to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions listed above.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
1. Education

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to accurately perform the above requirements. A high school diploma is required.

2. Experience
No prior experience is required. Prior warehouse distribution center experience is preferred.

3. Licenses
No special license is required. Preference is given to persons with CPR certificates or similar training.

4*. Other Preferences *
When a store is located in an area where a language other than English is necessary, fluency in that language will be a preferred skill, depending on the demands of the location. Prior experience working with persons with disabilities and/or the ability to interpret American

Sign Language or otherwise communicating with the hearing impaired is a desired skill.

5*. Grooming and Appearance *
BrandsMart USA seeks to maintain a neat and professional image at all times. All employees must come to work dressed in appropriate attire and maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.

6. Drug Testing

Applicants must certify they have not used illegal drugs within six months prior to the application date. Applicants will be required to take and pass a drug test prior to employment, and any offer of employment will be withdrawn if there is a confirmed positive test result indicating the illegal use of drugs. Random testing for illegal drug use of all warehouse employees will be performed from time to time. Any confirmed positive test result indicating the illegal use of drugs can be cause for immediate termination.
