The Role


The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the warehouse to ensure goals are met, if not exceeded. You will supervise and support many operations facets such as inventory integrity, picking/pulling, shipping and receiving; while maintaining smooth warehouse operational activities.

  • Supervise the daily warehouse activities of 45+ hourly employees.
  • Provide leadership that both maximizes and optimizes resources in support of company goals and objectives in servicing the customer.
  • Design and implement staffing strategies to ensure work force is cross-trained, agile and responds to variations in workflow.
  • Set employee performance objectives, measure performance, identify performance gaps, training needs, and take action to develop competence.
  • Mentor team leads and coordinators with a focus in the area of people and quality management.
  • Continuously identify areas of improvement and promote a culture of continuous improvement among all warehouse employees.
  • Promote a customer focused culture delivers high levels of customer service to our internal and external customers.

• Promote awareness and ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines • Ensure the operational tasks are completed on a daily basis.

  • Partner with other Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Engineers and Warehouse Managers to establish new workflows, test and implement new technologies and set clear and manageable standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the departments.
  • Interact with internal customers to quickly resolve issues through root cause analysis.
  • Communicate and enforce our department to perform SOPs.
  • Ensure employees comply with processes and procedures by providing guidance as necessary.
  • Exhibit strong Loss Prevention awareness and ensure compliance to all inventory

What we expect of you?

Experience

  • Relevant work experience in a high performing distribution facility.
  • Proven safety track record and proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
  • Proficient with MS products including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Skills

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field preferred or in lieu of a degree 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Formal Six Sigma training/Lean Warehouse training is a plus.
