Our Captain is responsible for the safe navigation and operation of a Cruisers Yachts 38GLS with tripple 300HP Merc OB and a 2020 Sea Ray 270 SDX bowrider single 300 HP Merc OB and the safety of crew and passengers. The vessels are NY Harbor's newest, most luxurious and most fun charter boats. We are looking for Captain and Crew to delivery a great experience.

The Captain maintains the safety, operations and appearance of the vessel. Specifically, they are expected to meet minimum physical requirements, be familiar with the location of all equipment on board the vessel and demonstrate the ability to respond to emergency situations. Nautical Adventures, LLC Captains are responsible for the safety of guests. They will interact with guests in a friendly and respectful manner before, during, and after the voyage. They must be available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, days, and evenings.

While the Captain must be helpful, friendly and conversational as required by guests, their primary duty is to manage the safety of guests and the vessel, working alongside a crew member in this and all other aspects of vessel operations.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel throughout the NY Harbor
• Provide a superb guest experience – greet guests, setting the tone for the cruise, ensuring a positive experience
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Maintain accurate cruise records
• Aid in training and development of crew members
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays a must!!!
• Make basic repairs to vessel, coordinate reporting on vessel status and manage completion of any and all necessary repairs with third party maintenance personnel
• Ensure the cleanliness of the vessel at all times, including helping in the cleaning process when necessary
• Report any and all incidents of maritime casualty or damage in a timely manner
• Keeping accurate daily log of passengers and waivers
• Reinforce the importance of safety and situational awareness in a professional environment

Requirements for the job include:

• USCG Master 50T or greater (Required)
• Friendly, with EXCEPTIONAL customer service attitude
• Minimum of 5 years of Marine Experience (Preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year experience on NY Harbor
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• Pre-employment and random drug testing is required, as mandated by the USCG.
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident, as required per USCG regulations

Compensation

• $40-$50 per hour- some charters are up to $100 an hour
• Additional compensation for longer charters
• Tip share with mate or other member- past two years average an additional $30-$40 an hour
• Commissions for repeat business and referrals
• Bonuses for achieving business objectives
• You should expect to make an average of $100 an hour with gratuity.
