Accounting Assistant Job at CARGO TRANSPORTERS
Primary Function:
Serve as Accounting Assitant to Controller performing data analysis and accounting responsibilities.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare and key journal entries.
- Update monthly spreadsheets and graphs from financial statements
- Intercompany transfers.
- Assist with monthly close process, including data entry.
- Expense and revenue account classifications.
- Assist with annual audit.
- Cross-train and support accounting functions to include Billing, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Cash Receipts.
- Special projects as needed.
- Assist Controller as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to meet company needs.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Detail and deadline oriented.
- Strong analytic abilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Take ownership and pride in work.
Education and Experience:
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with Excel.
- Experience with accounting software and data entry.
- Familiarity with accounting rules and procedures including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
