Dog Rescue Adoption Manager and Volunteer Coordinator

Our goal at Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue is to rescue dogs from shelters and prevent euthanasia by finding them stable and loving homes.

This role is a very important one that requires a big commitment to the dogs. However, it is also an incredibly rewarding opportunity to have a chance to rescue dogs who have been forgotten.

Important information about the Adoption Manager and Volunteer Coordinator position:

· You could realistically expect to work around 40-55 hours per week in this role

· We are looking for someone who is comfortable working every weekend (with 2 days off during the week) and someone who is comfortable being on-call with a cell phone for after-hours emergencies

· This is an in-office job (NOT remote) located west of LA-All of our dogs are fostered, and we don't have a dedicated shelter facility but we do have a dedicated office space.

· You will be hands-on helping dogs find homes, but your only direct contact with the pups will be at our bi-weekly adoption events, where volunteers bring the dogs they foster.

Responsibilities of Adoption Manager and Volunteer Coordinator:

· Calling shelters to get information on dogs, and coordinating their rescue

· Handling emergencies with adopted/fostered dogs

· Recruiting, scheduling and coordinating relationships with volunteers

· Organizing volunteers for dog adoptions and other tasks

· Developing and coordinating adoption and outreach programs

· Other responsibilities as needed

Requirements of the Adoption Manager and Volunteer Coordinator:

· Prior non-profit, dog rescue, shelter management, and/or volunteer coordination experience strongly preferred

· MUST love dogs--all breeds and sizes--and be very comfortable walking and handling them as you will be the on-site volunteer coordinator at our bi-monthly adoption events

· Impeccable organizational, multi-tasking and leadership skills

· Hands-on, proactive, able to show initiative

· Excellent phone demeanor and ability to handle multiple callers at once

· Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Google docs/calendar

· Good knowledge of social media for outreach and communication

· Must have continual access to a cell phone, laptop computer and reliable transportation

· Ability to work long hours when needed, weekends, and holidays (with time off during the week)

· Must live locally

Compensation:

· 60,000-$75,000 per year dependent on experience and skillset
