The Assistant AD/Facilities & Event Operations performs a variety of tasks and functions to carry out day-to-day facility operations and event management. This position manages the Director/Facilities Operations, Director/Event Operations, and a large staff of graduate assistants, interns, student employees, and other part-time gameday staff.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of experience in facilities/event management, preferably at the intercollegiate level.
Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to train and mentor staff.
Knowledge of the NCAA competition guidelines related to game management.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organization skills.
Customer service oriented.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with various constituents.
Strong track record of working collegially as a member of the team.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex tasks effectively, including attention to detail, organization, timeliness, and follow through.
Demonstrated ability to research and resolve event management issues and conflicts, problems, and questions.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
NCAA intercollegiate athletics facility and event management experience, preferably at the Division I level.
Budget management experience.
Experience scheduling practices, team camps, and external groups.
Experience with scheduling software.

Duties & Responsibilities
Oversees all athletic facility scheduling for practices, contests, and other events; coordinates with University partners such as University Recreation and University Events as necessary.
Serves as the primary point of contact to the conference office for instant replay and to DV Sports for IR equipment.
Oversees approximately a $50,000 part-time labor budget to hire and schedule staff necessary to prepare facilities for the constant fluctuation of events.
Serves as an emergency on-call administrator for the athletic facilities and events as assigned.
Maintains current knowledge of NCAA and conference rules/regulations related to game management; and is responsible for reporting any potential rule violations.
Directs the management and planning for all assigned home athletic contests and events (including contracting officials, visiting team guides, budget, security, parking, concessions, etc.).
Serves as Tournament Director for all assigned conference and NCAA tournaments.
Manages athletic facilities maintenance in coordination with University Facilities Management to ensure safety and competitive condition.
Coordinates CPR/AED/First Aid training sessions.
Assists with execution of a premier guest experience and customer service initiatives related to events.
Assists in the development and execution of all athletic department emergency plans, policies and procedures.
Ensures emergency action plans are followed working directly with police, Sports Medicine, EMT, and uniformed security.
Other duties as assigned.
