The University of Minnesota Crookston, one of five campuses comprising the University of Minnesota system, invites applications for a full-time position of Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Engagement and Wellness.
This newly structured position reports directly to the Chancellor and, works closely with the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Director for Student Success and Academic Advising, the Director of Enrollment Management, and the Director of Residence Facilities, Campus Security, Athletics and the Wellness Center staff, senior academic leaders, faculty, the Crookston Student Association, and students. The Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Engagement and Wellness provides leadership for creating a vibrant campus community characterized by a strong commitment to equity and belonging for students with diverse identities, students of various racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, students from low-income families, students from rural communities, students with disabilities, LGBTQ students, and non-traditional adult learners. This position advises the Crookston Student Association, serves as the senior student conduct officer, and provides supervisory leadership for residence life, oversees campus safety and security, prepares and oversees the fiscal aspects of residential life, creates entrepreneurial fiscal opportunities through residential housing, educational programming, new student transitions, and the Centers for counseling, health, and disability services.
The Associate Vice Chancellor provides forward-thinking and strategic leadership for a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach in support of student success, including administrative oversight, support and leadership.
This position:
- Collaborates with other senior officials of the institution to identify and address critical issues impacting the university.
- Work closely with all members of the University community to provide and cohesive and comprehensive student experience.
- Coordinates the development and management of co-curricular learning with campus constituencies.
- Develops and oversees the support student-centered programs and services to complement the academic mission of the institutions
- Establish standards and management practices to ensure the quality and validity of Student Affairs programs, including the oversight of program reviews and other means of assessment.
- Remain current on all legal matters regarding student affairs and due process, including student rights under FERPA.
- Responsible for the leadership and administration of institutional student judicial processes.
