The Booking Tech is responsible for booking inmates in and out of the jail, maintaining inmate accounts-to include property and money, and assisting booking staff as needed. Pennington County Jail Booking Techs also operate the control room, including the monitoring of all movement throughout the jail, answering phone calls, and notifying emergency services when needed.
Booking Techs will rotate shifts during the onset of their training and then bid set shifts yearly that may include days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Preference given to candidates with above average computer skills, cash handling experience and a minimum of one year customer service employment.
License / Certification: SD Driver's License (within 90 days of moving to SD)
