The Indian Valley Family YMCA is looking for an Building & Grounds Director to join our team!
Job Description

The Building and Grounds Director is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the buildings, grounds and equipment, including but not limited to the staff, cleanliness and maintenance of facility. This position may involve early morning, evening and weekend responsibilities. This job is performed to standard when all work is completed accurately and on time, with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in facility management, or closely related field
  • Requires working knowledge of custodial, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, fire prevention, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas
  • Certified Pool Operator or Fire Prevention Officer license preferred
  • Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards
  • Effective Communication; written, oral and through presentations
  • Must have strong collaborative work ethic
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
Essential Functions
  • Maintain facilities and equipment in safe working order and openly communicate with Branch Executive on any and all issues
  • Conduct staff meetings, in-service trainings and perform all supervisory functions, including but not limited to staffing requirements, employment procedures and implementation, and evaluations under the direction of Branch Executive
  • Assure that proper records are maintained on staff, inventory/supplies, service contracts/contractors
  • Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Update budget, labor supplies, equipment and related services/material required for cost-efficient operations
  • Handle OSHA facility regulations and compliance issues; keeps all records for permits and Board of Health, electrical and HVAC fire system
  • Serves on Buildings and Grounds committee, Health and Safety Committee and attends all branch meetings
  • Serve as Director on Duty as required
  • Assist with Association Annual Gift fundraising including coordination, leadership, attainment of goals, recruiting volunteers and staff with full knowledge of YMCA programs, values and services provided to the community
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the North Penn YMCA
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Required Certifications

  • Certified Pool Operator or Fire Prevention Officer license preferred
  • Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards
  • First aid/Cpr certification preferred
