REPORTS TO:
Chief of Staff / Estate Manager

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
This position is for a hardworking candidate with a “can-do” attitude. The candidate would ideally have a previous experience as a Butler in a domestic environment or a luxury hotel.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Manage organization of home according to Principal’s preferences
  • Manage and assist with the purchase of food provisions
  • Manage pantry inventoies
  • Manage and log all outgoing and incoming dry cleaning and laundry
  • Manage care of fine china, silver, and crystal
  • Oversee and assist with family packing and unpacking and wardrobe management
  • Work with chef and perform server or Butler duties during mealtimes
  • Oversee and participate in proper table settings and entertainment prep
  • Coordinate floral arrangements
  • Tend to guest needs and service
  • Meet guests when they arrive and getting them settled in their rooms
  • Anticipate family & guests needs by learning their preferences, allergies, dislikes, etc.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all spirits and specialty foods in stock
  • Assess and restock wine and spirit collections as necessary
  • Serve meals and pour drinks for guests
  • Communicate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned and refreshed
  • Run errands when necessary
  • Recommend and arrange amenities
  • See family & guests off when they check out
  • Remain well-groomed at all times
  • Keep up-to-date on all safety and hygiene standards
  • Travel with family as needed
  • Perform all duties with discretion, professionalism and a pleasant demeanor

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years experience doing similar work
  • College degree and relevant training certificate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills. Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed during demanding periods with a real sense of urgency
  • “Hands-on”, proactive, motivated and “can do” attitude
  • Willingness to go above and beyond
  • Committed, mature and hard-working
  • Takes direction well, ability to adapt to different situations and relationships, fast learner
  • Willing to work at any of there family’s properties depending upon where they are including NYC/NJ/Hamptons
  • Proactive about most efficient and proper ways to run a household with the Principals’ direction
  • Independent and team worker
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Comfortable working in a home that includes children and pets
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Live out and flexible to be in Hamptons in the summer and live in staff housing
