This position provides course instruction and adheres to course content provided bythe New Jersey Board of Nursing to prepare the program syllabus. The incumbentwill also serve as a student resource, mentor and advisor to students in career andprogram matters and assesses student work and eligibility for certification. Thisposition assists with coordination of the Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) programwithin the Workforce and Professional Education Department.Classification: Workforce & Professional Education InstructorInstructional Duration: Semester BasedSalary: $445 per Continuing Education Unit
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Provides course instruction at various times and locations and adheres to coursecontent provided by the New Jersey Board of Nursing to prepare the programsyllabus; also monitors inventory and orders required program supplies for clinicalinstruction.2. Serves as a student resource, mentor and advisor to students in career andprogram matters and assesses student work and eligibility for certification.3. Maintains all student records of attendance and performance within the classroomand through clinical observations; provides timely, quality driven responses tostudents through electronic communication, or other appropriate method.4. Assists with coordination of the Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) coursespecific to the New Jersey Board of Nursing curriculum; adheres to provided coursecontent in accordance with established institutional or and New Jersey Board ofNursing guidelines5. Under the guidance of the immediate manager, provides assistance withimplementing and maintaining on file a plan for evaluating the effectiveness of theprogram; collaborates with designated department Program Administrators toestablish course schedules and agreements.6. Assists with completing files, & submits all required forms, time sheets, reports,and applications related to this program to the college and the New Jersey Board ofNursing, including the annual program application.7. Remains current and adapts to evolving computer technology as required of theposition.8. Serves as a community resource person and represents the college to outsidegroups when requested.9. Completes any required annual training to remain in compliance with programrequirements.10. Related duties, initiatives and projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing2. Currently licensed as an Registered Nurse in the State of NJ3. At least one year of community health, public health or home care experience.4. At least six months’ of experience supervising homemaker-home health aides.5. Exceptional client/student service experience in a primary contact/informationresource capacity that involved the delivery of information in person, over the phoneand electronically.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
1. One year of experience working in distance learning or using instructional technology.2. One year of experience teaching in a community college environment.
