This position is responsible for supporting the value stream staff by driving operational excellence through driving a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing core continuous improvement methodologies and implementing a daily management operating system Butterball Operating System Solution (BOSS). This position implements and supports actions that drive improvements that may include but not limited to safety, quality, yields, cycle time, efficiencies, margin improvements and customer service.

Responsibilities:

· Drive Supply Chain and Operational Excellence Team (SCOPE) culture change through coaching employees and leaders to drive Continuous Improvement behaviors and follow the principles and practices that drive Operational Excellence.
· Directs and supports all activities needed to incorporate continuous improvement transformation and BOSS into the SCOPE team culture and across the value stream.
· Executes against long- and short-term objectives to support the SCOPE team’s vision and goals.
· Provides necessary training specific to core continuous improvement tools and methodology.
· Coordinates, leads, and executes improvement projects and initiatives to achieve business needs and objectives.
· Executes and supports key activities as part of Butterball’s continuous improvement transformation and BOSS implementation to include the following: pre-shift, shift cross-over and first hour of attainment meetings; start-up scorecard; productivity data capture; standard work and leader standard work; visual boards; action item registers; and weekly operational excellence reviews.
· Utilizes value stream mapping techniques to design optimal information, material, and production flow methods.
· Participates in Gemba walks and acts as coach for employees in the areas of; continuous improvement; waste reduction and yield improvements; problem solving; root cause analysis; flow; and follow-up on action plans.
· Creates and implements standard work, coaching line leaders to do the same.
· Implements and coaches the use of control boards and other visual management tools.
· Independently lead simple projects that facilitate problem solving in operations to address issues affecting yields, throughput and efficiencies.
· Supports Senior CI Specialists in moderate to complex problem solving activities in operations to drive yield, throughput and efficiency improvements.
· Drives 5S process improvements across the operations.
· Works with necessary site personnel to identify, address, and eliminate process related obstacles.
Requirements:
· BS in Engineering, Food Science, Poultry Science or related field and 18 months industry experience required.
High School Diploma / GED and 5 years of work experience (supervision) in a manufacturing environment considered in lieu of college degree.
· Customer centric attitude is mandatory.
· Proven success in delivering results and identifying operational opportunities.
· Excellent interpersonal/communication and critical thinking skills.
· Working knowledge of SAP, MS Office, SharePoint and PowerBI.
· Position is based in Reaford.
· Willingness to travel to other Butterball Facilities on occasion (25% or less)
