Customer Service Associate
Allen A. Shaffer insurance is seeking a friendly, positive and motivated individual to be the first point of contact for our continually growing customer base.
Hours: M-Thurs: 8:30-4:30pm
Friday: 8:30-4pm (37 hours per week)
Salary: $15-18/hour (depending on experience)
Paid Time Off: 9 paid holidays, 15 days PTO (Paid Time Off)
Position Summary
- Serves customers by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately (in-person and via telephone).
- Informs customers by answering and referring inquiries.
- Supports continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Friendly and professional behavior.
- Telephone Skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Email)
- Organization
- Knowledge of insurance products and policy schedules preferred, but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greeting customers and routing to appropriate staff, if necessary.
- Learning and understanding company insurance products.
- Answering calls and responding to customer inquiries.
- Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions, recording all details (inquiries, complaints, comments, and actions taken).
- Taking factual information relative to a claim.
- Processing policyholder payments.
- Informing insured as to coverage as indicated in policy records.
- Assist with agency Marketing efforts.
- Handling of agency mail.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
